Thanks For Being An AFGE Leader!

This site is currently dedicated to debate and facilitation of ideas for the Options ’09 Committee established by NP Gage and Co-Chaired by NST Cox, NVP Brooks, and NVP Bowman.

I wanted to set this site up for two reasons:     

1. Allow for an uncensored exchange of thoughts regarding the future of AFGE-and hopefully-begin a consensus for our convention next year .    

2. Post my own thoughts on specific ideas as we develop that consensus. I think I have some good ideas-some that maybe controversial and need work-and maybe some that need to be re-evaluated.

Bottom line:

We don’t get anywhere without open debate and constructive criticism.

I’ve broken this site down in the following ways:

1. My views on current state of the way we do business and thoughts on potential breakthrough ways we can transform our organization to meet the challenges of the future.  This outline will have hypertext links so specific ideas and thoughts can be expanded, responded to, and criticized (constructively).     

2. My thoughts for each of the major subcommittees will include both areas I see as objectives and potential partial solutions to those challenges.

There is a requirement to apply for a password to reach all of these functions (coming soon). This is necessary to safeguard the sensitive nature of this dialogue from critics and enemies of our mission and our objectives.
